I really liked making this pen. Whilst the idea is simple, it's not straightforward to make.
 
The idea has been around for a long time, and I happened to come across some perfect pieces of acrylic that made it come together. The pen has no clip, so it is perfectly cylindrical. The cap and nib housing are made from a single piece of turned brass. The acrylic has no fitted end, and I rounded it off to a beautiful curve. I then polished this to within an inch of its life to give it a lovely sheen.
 
The cap is relatively heavy compared to the pen, but once you take the cap off, the pen suddenly becomes nicely balanced and light in the hand. 
 
The pen is presented in a spring-loaded black velvet case and comes with a choice of soft-tied velvet pouches.
