Golden Figure
What makes this pen special?
Some pieces of wood are fairly well behaved. This isn't one of them.
Golden Figure is all about the grain. Rich golden-brown tones run through the barrel, crossed by dramatic dark streaks and flowing patterns that seem to move across the surface as the light changes. Every part of the wood has something different happening, making this a genuinely individual pen.
I have turned the wood to reveal as much of that natural character as possible, then polished it to a deep, glossy finish. The result is a pen that feels both traditional and striking, with the ornate Imperial fittings providing a beautiful contrast to the warmth and natural beauty of the timber.
The Imperial design gives Golden Figure a substantial, elegant feel, while the wood ensures that no two pens will ever be quite the same.
And there is a choice of how you write with it. Golden Figure can be supplied as either a smooth rollerball or a fountain pen, allowing you to choose the writing experience that suits you.
There is no artificial pattern here. The beautiful figure you see is entirely natural — revealed by the turning and finishing process.
Who is this pen for?
Golden Figure is for someone who appreciates unusual natural wood, traditional craftsmanship and a pen with plenty of character.
It would make a wonderful gift for a writer, professional, collector or simply someone who appreciates owning something that hasn't come off a production line by the thousand.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the exact pen I will receive?
Yes. This is the actual handmade pen shown in the photographs. Because natural wood is unique, the grain, figure and colouring of every pen will be different.
Can I choose between a fountain pen and rollerball?
Yes. Golden Figure can be supplied as either a fountain pen or rollerball. If you choose the fountain pen version.
What type of wood is this?
Golden Figure has been made from a beautiful naturally figured hardwood. I have chosen not to specify the exact species because the appearance alone cannot reliably identify the wood. What matters is the individual character of the piece used to make this pen. It is very likely to be Turkish Walnut.
Will the grain look exactly like the photographs?
Yes — the photographs show the actual pen you will receive. Natural wood can appear slightly different under different lighting conditions and on different screens.
Is the wood durable?
The hardwood is well suited to pen making and, once sealed and polished, provides a beautiful and practical material for everyday use.
Is this pen refillable?
Yes. Both the rollerball and fountain pen versions are refillable, allowing you to enjoy your pen for many years.
