Imperial Revolution
It has a bit of attitude, suits the red, white and blue, and fits the Imperial styling nicely.
What makes this pen special?
The Imperial Revolution is an Imperial-style fountain pen with a rather spectacular acrylic body.
Swirls of deep blue, vibrant red, crisp white and rich purple flow through the acrylic, creating a bold, almost marble-like pattern that changes dramatically around the pen.
This particular pen is being offered as an Imperfect Edition because I made a mistake during its creation. The finish isn't up to the standard I normally expect from The Pen Guy, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
But rather than consigning an otherwise perfectly usable pen to the scrap box, I've decided to give it a second chance.
The ornate Imperial hardware, substantial proportions and beautifully polished acrylic are all still there. What you're getting is a genuinely handmade pen with a little more character — and a little less perfection.
And that's reflected in the price.
Who is this pen for?
Someone who likes their pens with a bit of personality — and doesn't need everything to come out of a factory looking identical.
If you're happy to accept the imperfections in exchange for 50% off the normal price, this is a chance to own a very striking Imperial without paying full price.
It's also a good choice if you actually intend to use your pen rather than putting it behind glass and worrying about breathing on it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this an Imperfect Edition?
Because I made a mistake during the finishing process and the completed pen doesn't meet my normal standard.
I'm rather particular about my pens, so rather than selling it as a standard Imperial, I've decided to be completely honest about it and offer it at half price.
Is the pen still fully usable?
Yes. The issue is with the appearance/finish rather than the pen being unusable.
Why is it half price?
Because I don't think you should pay full price for something that doesn't meet my usual standard. 50% off seems a much fairer deal.
Is this the exact pen shown in the photographs?
Yes. This is the actual pen you will receive.
Will there be another Imperial Revolution?
No two handmade acrylic pens are identical, and this particular combination and pattern is unique.
And I'd make the honesty even stronger on the product page
For this one, I'd actually show the close-up photograph of the imperfection prominently, rather than hiding it amongst the gallery.
Something like:
IMPERFECT EDITION — 50% OFF
I've made a mistake with this pen.
I'm not going to hide it or pretend it isn't there — the close-up photographs show exactly what you're getting.
The pen is fully usable, but the finish doesn't meet my normal The Pen Guy standard. Rather than throw it away, I'm giving it a second life at 50% off.
Please examine the photographs carefully before purchasing.
