What makes this pen special?

Purple Fusion is one of those pens that simply can't be mass-produced. It has been hand-cast using beautiful two-tone purple resin infused with genuine aluminium swarf collected from my own lathe. Every tiny metallic fragment catches the light differently, creating depth, texture and a subtle sparkle that changes as you turn the pen in your hand.

Finished with an elegant matte surface, it feels wonderfully warm and tactile to hold. No two castings are ever the same, making every Purple Fusion completely unique.

This pen is offered as an Imperfect Edition due to a fine hairline crack in the cap. The crack is cosmetic, does not affect normal use, and is shown clearly in the photographs. As a result, the pen has been priced accordingly, offering excellent value for someone who appreciates handmade craftsmanship over factory perfection.

Who is this pen for?

Purple Fusion is ideal for anyone who enjoys owning something genuinely individual. Whether you're buying it for yourself or as a thoughtful gift, it's perfect for writers, artists, engineers, makers, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of handcrafted objects with a story behind them.

It's especially suited to those who believe that character is often more interesting than perfection.

Why choose a The Pen Guy pen?

Every pen I make is individually handcrafted in my workshop—never mass-produced.

I carefully select the materials, cast the blanks where appropriate, turn each pen by hand on my lathe, and finish every piece to bring out its natural beauty. My aim is simple: to create writing instruments that people enjoy using every day and are proud to own.

When you buy from The Pen Guy, you're buying directly from the maker, with the confidence that every pen has received the same care and attention I'd expect if I were buying it myself.

No. This rollerball uses high-quality refill cartridges rather than bottled ink, giving you the smooth writing experience of a fountain pen with the convenience of a rollerball.

Is this suitable as a gift?

Absolutely. Although sold as an Imperfect Edition, it remains a beautiful handmade pen with a unique story. It makes an excellent gift for anyone who appreciates craftsmanship and one-of-a-kind items.

Maker's Story

The first pen I made using aluminium swarf in resin sold almost immediately. I loved the effect so much that I decided to make another, giving someone else the opportunity to own and enjoy this unusual material.

Unfortunately, during the final polishing, I noticed a fine hairline crack in the cap. Rather than hiding it or discarding the pen, I decided to be completely honest and offer it as an Imperfect Edition at a reduced price.

To me, handmade craftsmanship isn't always about perfection. Sometimes it's about creating something beautiful from unexpected materials, being open about its journey, and finding a home with someone who values its character as much as its craftsmanship.
