What makes this pen special?
The Kitten Ballpoint – Batchelor’s Cat is a pen with a little bit of personality built into it. Inspired by a young lady who gave me the idea for creating it, this playful cat-themed ballpoint is designed to be as charming and individual as the person who inspired it.
The kitten design gives the pen a character all of its own, while the smooth ballpoint mechanism makes it a practical pen for everyday writing. Handmade by me in my workshop, each pen is turned, finished and assembled with care — so although I can make another one in the same style, no two handmade pens will ever be quite identical.

Yes. Unless the listing specifically states otherwise, the pen photographed is the actual pen you will receive. I don't use computer-generated images to represent my finished pens — what you see is what I made.
Can I replace the refill?
Yes. The ballpoint uses a replaceable refill, so when it eventually runs dry, you can simply fit a new one and carry on writing.
Is this suitable as a gift?

Maker's Story
This pen is a little different from some of the others I make because it has a story behind it.
The Kitten Ballpoint – Batchelor’s Cat was inspired by a young lady who gave me the idea to create a cat-themed pen. Sometimes an idea comes from nowhere; sometimes someone says or does something that makes you think, "I could make a pen from that."
This was one of those occasions.
So, somewhere between a lump of material, a lathe, far too much sawdust and my questionable ability to leave an idea alone, the Kitten Ballpoint was born.
I've called it Batchelor's Cat in her honour — a small tribute to the young lady who inspired me to make it.
As with all my pens, it's handmade by me, one at a time, in my workshop. I don't mass-produce them and I don't believe handmade should look like something that came out of a factory. Every pen gets my time, attention and a little bit of personality along the way.
And this one has perhaps a little more personality than most.
