Maker’s Story
This pen began life as a beautiful Curly Mango blank, a wood known for its unusual flowing grain patterns. As the blank was turned on the lathe, the intricate curls and ripples in the timber gradually revealed themselves, creating a pattern that looks almost like waves or shifting sand.
Mango wood is not traditionally used for fine writing instruments, which makes discovering a piece with such a striking figure especially rewarding. Careful sanding and polishing brought out the depth and warmth of the wood, allowing the golden tones and natural movement within the grain to shine.
 
The finished pen pairs this distinctive timber with classic retro hardware, creating a writing instrument that feels both timeless and unique.
