Description

The Dartmoor Ember is a fountain pen that captures the wild beauty of the English moors. Crafted from a rare Conway Stewart “Dartmoor” acrylic blank, its deep, smoky body is scattered with glowing amber and emerald flecks that shimmer beneath the polished surface like embers in the fading light of dusk.

Paired with elegant gold and chrome Princess fittings, the pen balances classic refinement with natural drama. The richly patterned material ensures that every pen is completely unique, with swirling colours that shift and sparkle as the pen moves in the light.

Fitted with a smooth-writing fountain nib, the Dartmoor Ember delivers both style and performance — a pen designed for those who appreciate craftsmanship, rarity, and the quiet beauty of nature.

Maker’s Story

This pen was turned from a Conway Stewart “Dartmoor” blank, a material that has become increasingly difficult to source as remaining stocks gradually disappear. Conway Stewart blanks are cherished by pen makers for their depth of colour and unmistakable heritage in British pen making.

When shaping this blank on the lathe, the patterns slowly revealed themselves — flashes of green and amber emerging from the dark base like sparks in peat firelight. The result felt instantly reminiscent of Dartmoor itself: rugged, mysterious, and quietly beautiful.

Each pen made from this material is a small tribute to that landscape and to the legacy of classic British pen craftsmanship.
