Maker’s Story
When The Turners Workshop secured the entire batch of acrylics, casein and ebonite from the Conway Stewart factory liquidation, it was a rare moment in modern pen making.
They were the only company to acquire the original stock, meaning every genuine Conway Stewart blank now comes through that channel. When I received this material, I knew it wasn’t just another acrylic. It was part of a legacy.
Conway Stewart has long been associated with classic British pen craftsmanship — dignified, elegant, enduring. The creamy pearl tones of this blank immediately suggested a refined, feminine silhouette.
The Princess design was the natural choice.
As I turned and polished it, the pearlescent depth began to glow. Under light, subtle movement appears in the material—soft swirls of champagne and ivory emerging beneath the gloss.
There is something deeply satisfying about working with material that carries history. You’re not just making a pen — you’re continuing a story.
