Maker’s Story
Some blanks suggest calm elegance. This one suggested energy.
From the first cut, the vivid pink and molten orange began to reveal flowing patterns that felt alive — almost like heat rising through liquid light. The challenge with such vibrant material is ensuring the shape enhances the movement rather than overpowering it.
I worked this piece deliberately, preserving the natural flow of the pattern as it emerged from the blank. As the polish built to its final gloss, the shimmer intensified, and the warmth of the colours deepened.
 
Under workshop lights, it looked like a captured sunset — radiant and powerful. The name followed naturally: Solar Rapture.
